Facilities

Opened in 2011, the Anjema Eye Centre is a state of the art medical center dedicated to providing advanced clinical and surgical care, including:

cataract surgery
glaucoma laser and medical treatment
retinal laser
wet and dry age related macular degeneration diagnostics and treatment with Lucentis and Avastin
eyelid tumor removal and reconstruction
and cosmetic eyelid surgery

AEI has a full compliment of additional services including:

cutting-edge, advanced diagnostics
full operating room licensed by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario for glaucoma, cataract and oculoplastic surgery
research centre
professional development centre for teaching optometrists, family doctors, residents, staff and visiting surgeons with full compliments of digital communication devices

Anjema Eye Institute’s outstanding Chatham facility was chosen as a Project Excellence Award Winner by the London & District Construction Association.

The building is also home to an on-site pharmacy, and the Rule Hearing Centre.

At the Rule Hearing Centre in Chatham, we are committed to providing every patient the treatment and technology necessary to improve one’s hearing care. Along with offering the latest in diagnostic and real ear testing, Rule Hearing Centre educates patients on their hearing loss and all available options. We provide a variety of hearing aids, custom ear protection as well as complementary hearing assessments. We are proud members of the Association of Hearing Instrument Practitioners.

Staff Profiles

Dr. Christopher Anjema, MD, FRCS(C)

Dr. Christopher Anjema, MD, FRCS(C) trained at the Ivey Institute at The University of Western Ontario in Ophthalmology. His fellowship training was completed at Emory University, Atlanta Georgia. He has been practicing in the Chatham-Kent area since July of 2004.

Dr. Anjema’s primary practice is the Anjema Surgical Centre, a College approved Level 2 facility. The centre has been selected by multinational eye care companies as a model practice for Canadian and US Surgeons.

He has been married to Michelle since 1999 and they have 4 children. Dr. Anjema and family reside in Chatham-Kent.
